From Ursula :

Hi,

OK,  that wasn't me, but it is my hunky son this fall and the other is me and my son and daughter just last mother's day! When I look at the two photos it just amazes me how much he's matured in just 5 months! Gotta love those hormones!
I'm going to throw more photos in the album part too!
Wow!
It's so fun to look at pictures of everyone. We all look so happy and what more could you ask for!

What a blessing that so many of us will be able to return in August to see one another. I really hope that we get a good show. I was blessed in that I had the privledge of meeting and befriending so many different people as I was never really in any "click". So I'm looking forward to seeing as many faces as possible. I really do feel lucky to be able to attend because I know that there are some who will not be with us and I will miss them. Mrs. Randles funeral was one of my saddest days next to my father's.

Well, the last 20 years kinda flew by, if ya know what I mean! There was college, marriage, babies, jobs and all kinds of vacations and stuff.

I could go on and on about my children (my Christmas letters are book length!), but I'll try to stay to a paragraph.

Russell is my oldest. He is a young sophmore (15) and a very wonderful easy teenager. He starts for his sophmore football team (offence and defence) , JV  football team (offence), played piano for ten years (McPhail) and will be competing in the Junior Olympic Lifting competions. At 5'11' 225 he is a nice healthy kid with a good attitude. I really am lucky to have him. His plans are to play football in college and become a pediatric dentist.

Isabella is my baby at age 5. She just started Kindergarden, plays piano (1 year at McPhail), does dance (ballet and tap) and loves to swim. She is a tall, curly haired, sweet little girl. I would be heartbrocken without her. Age 39 is too young to be an empty nester! God heard my prayers for just one more baby.

Having them has been so wonderful. I'm glad that we've been able to give to them all the things we missed out on like dance class, skiing, sports etc. We also try to give them a lot of stability. Both my husband and I were out of the house by 15 and on our own and we know how much you miss out on as a kid. I wish I had had the opportunity to be a cheerleader. I think I would have done well and had fun, but then again the "splits" are something I could live without. God has a plan for all of us and I really can't complain. After all my parents loved me and I was lucky for that.

My husband Curt and I live on 11 acres. We have enjoyed it a great deal, but I'm ready to down size soon. He has his business (about 20+ years) and loves to manage his bees and garden. He has been a super dad to both our children.

I have taught on and off with my children being my priority. I just finished my Masters as a Reading Specialist, and  currently sub. I'm also going on a year of starting my own business with Mary Kay. It's been a wonderfully empowering experience!

We spend our time with our pets: Joey (King Charles Cavalier Spaniel), and our 4 cats (two out and two inside). We love to entertain and have been blessed with a wonderful variety of friends from Church, business and our neighborhood.

Forgive my spelling!

God Bless!

From Eric:
I graduated from St. Olaf in 1992 and headed to Iowa City to get my Ph.D. in math.  My wife and I got married in 1995 and then I finished up my dissertation in 1997.

We moved to Pittsburgh and spent 9 years there while I was working at Chatham College and Duquesne University.  But through the whole thing, we kept trying to get back to the homeland.  Well, Pittsburgh was good to us, bringing two testosterone-filled bundles of energy and we finally got our chance to move back last year.

Now I'm at the University of St. Thomas in my second year.  I study knots, kind of like the ones in your shoes.  It has applications in DNA actions like replication and a bunch of stuff you probably don't care about.  But it keeps me employed.

My wife and I used to travel quite a bit (pre-kids), and I guess we still do, just not together, and mostly for work.  I'm not sure what I do in my free time since I don't seem to have much anymore.

From Daphne:
Hi Class of 1988!  For all of you who may have read my profile previously you might notice a change.  The short story is I'm now living in the "burbs" instead of 40 miles west of the metro and am now a widow.  I'm enjoying living only a few miles from work and being closer to my family and friends.  I spend as much time with them as I can and love hanging out with my nieces and nephews whenever I have the chance.  When I'm not doing that I'm working, going to school, and experiencing new and fun things.

Thanks to the reunion committee for all their hard work - this is a great web site and I'm sure the reunion will be just as fabulous!

From Zeke:

Thanks for "finding" me Tina Loos!  What an unexpected email to get.

I graduated from Hamline University with an anthropology degree and eventually got work as an archaeologist in Wisconsin surveying a pipeline corridor.  That led to my current job as an environmental consultant to the energy industry, where I've been for 10 years now.

I've been with my partner Alex for 9 years this month (October). We live in the Tangletown neighborhood in southwest Minneapolis with our two dogs (Welsh corgis: Bixie and Bongo) and two cats (Mercer and Monty).  We spend a lot of our time working on the house, walking the dogs, going to the orchestra or opera (being a band geek had lasting effects, I guess) or rock and/or roll concerts, gardening, relaxing, etc.  When we're not doing that we also spend lots of time with my family here or traveling to Chicago to visit with Alex’s.

Met lots of musicians and experienced a lot of the South. Lived in Vero Beach, Florida for a few years but finally settled in Atlanta. Have one daughter, Julien. She is 8 and is the smile on my face and the air that I breathe. I also have 5 dogs that are my other babies. :) Currently, I am working with persons with disabilites or barriers to employment to not only get jobs but to keep them. Couldnt make it to the reunion. Would have love to seen everyone. Look forward to seeing y'all at the next one!!!!

Hello class of '88! I think the reunion is going to be a blast. I hope to see many of you there!
After high school, I attended Mankato State and played softball for four years...received a BS in social studies and did my student teaching and coaching at RHS in '93. I almost got a job at RHS that summer for the next school year, but they needed a men's soccer coach so I got aced out. I went and got a job at Airborne Express (now DHL) and I was there for 12 years.
I married Riegert in '95. He won't write anything in his area, but he is a sergeant with the Minnetonka PD. No luck in the children department, but I'm not giving up hope yet. In the meantime, we will spoil and love our sweet yellow labrador, Cooper.
I am back in school taking a chemistry class and a physiology class this semester. Nursing school and becoming an RN is the ultimate goal for me these days.

See you all in August!
